Bad Diet (Processed Foods and Refined Sugar)

We will not dwell on this topic since there are countless books and videos on the subject already. Our discussion centers around how and why eating bad food and drink interferes with the centropic forces in your body. The biggest issue involves the difficulty of digesting various chemical additives and bad forms of fat and sugar. Anything that is hard to digest is going to require more energy expenditures. Your liver and kidneys are working harder than they should. Trying to digest food when sleeping is a losing proposition. If you eat something bad, it might take four to six hours to finish digesting.

Certain chemicals are known as endocrine disruptors. They interfere with the glands and hormones, causing insomnia, restlessness, nervousness and degradation of vital organs.

The fertility rate of women and potency (sperm count) in men has been decreasing alarmingly over the past 50 years. This is almost certainly due to GMO foods, additives, preservatives, pesticides, and such. There are some conspiracy theorists who are suggesting this is intentional as a way of culling the population. While the profit motive is a far more likely culprit, it is understandable that people would feel this way.

The simple solution is to prepare as many foods as possible from scratch. Many health food companies are aware of the problem and are capitalizing on the concerns of individuals. In most Western cities, you can now get vegetables from an organic salad bar, adequately washed and prepared, to take home.

The excuses that you don’t have time to prepare good food or cannot afford it, are simply not valid. Even if you have health insurance (which is ridiculously expensive in the West), you will still spend a lot more money on co-pays, deductibles and uncovered items going to the doctor frequently if you are not eating the more expensive, high quality foods. Remember the expression, “You cannot put a price on good health.”

Most junk-food addicts have emotional issues that are being suppressed by eating. If you cannot resist that pizza, macaroni and cheese or burger, look for the cause of your emotional eating. A few months of healthy food and you will no longer crave junk foods. This author, when he stopped eating beef in the 1970s, felt nauseated at the smell and thought of eating it within six months after he stopped. When he eliminated aspartame in the 1990s, the occasional bite or sip of something containing it tasted awful just three months later.

The body is resilient and quickly adjusts to changes, even though at first it fights to keep the status quo. Don’t try going from meat and potatoes to raw vegan overnight. The body will likely get sick. Go in stages. Also, do not assume that the strictest or most fad diet is for you. Raw vegan might not be the best diet for your body. Pay attention to its reaction as you make changes. Give yourself time to adjust.

Start by eating chicken and fish instead of beef, pork and lamb.
